Dr. Coope was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona in 1961. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1984. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry from 1988 to 1991 where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Distinction. Dr. Coope joined the Air Force after dental school and met his wife, Laurie, at his first duty station in Grand Forks, North Dakota. While in the Air Force, Dr. Coope completed a two year advanced general dentistry residency and became a Diplomate of the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry in 2002. He then became Board Certified with the American Board of General Dentistry in 2004. By completing over 500 hours of continuing education Dr. Coope became a Fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry in 2007 and then went on to receive their highest award of Master in 2013.
Dr. Coope moved his wife and son, Byron to Dover, DE in 2001 with the Air Force. Shortly after arriving in Dover they adopted their daughter, Katana, from China. Dr. Coope and his family really enjoyed Dover and the surrounding area so decided to leave the military and open a private practice. He has been practicing in Dover since 2004.

Ashley started with the practice in November 2011 and the patients all love her. Ashley graduated from the hygiene program at Delaware Tech in 2011. She picked hygiene because she really likes the fact that she gets to help people keep or restore their oral health. Ashley enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends and loves to travel.
Laurie is Dr. Coope’s wife and according to her “his better half”. She is an attorney so when he wanted to open his own practice she was glad to help out with the business aspects. They have 2 children, a son in Vermont and a daughter in Atlanta. They also have 2 cats, Bebe and Tounces.
Jessica started working with the practice in August of 2013. She graduated from the dental assistant program at Polytech Adult Education in February of 2014. Jessica’s dedication and outstanding attitude have made her an invaluable member of the team. Jessica picked the dental field because after years of having braces she became fascinated with her oral hygiene. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her daughter Jayla, her fiance Nisan, her two cats Violet and Skye, her dog Micah and her family and friends.
Charlie joined the team in August 2019. He has been a dental assistant for about 16 years. While he still loves interacting with the patients chairside he has found his passion doing lab work. His talent and skill have been an enormous help to Dr. Coope and the office. Charlie enjoys spending time with his husband, Jerry, and their two dogs, Isabella and Dapper.
Ashlyn started here at Care First Dental Team in February of 2017. After graduating from Lake Forest High School in 2014, she went on to attend Delaware State for Elementary Education. You may recognize her from the front end of the office, but she has found a passion for helping out the doctors chairside in the back! In her free time, she enjoys playing field hockey, ice hockey, and spending time with family and friends. Fun Fact: Ashlyn loves cats. Meow!
Lauren joined our team in July of 2020. Lauren has 3 years of Dental assistant experiance after graduating from Camden County College with her Certified Dental Assistant Certificate in 2017. In her free time Lauren loves to go camping and spending time out doors with her boyfriend Jesse and her puppy dog.
Amanda joined our team in July of 2020. She started her dental career in 2006 working as a dental assistant and she received her Dental Hygiene degree in 2011. She enjoys educating patients and making a difference in their lives and in their smile. Amanda grew up and still lives in Felton Delaware with her husband Sam and two young daughters Bryley and Everly. She loves anything summer, reading, cooking, baking and being artsy.
Stephanie joined our team in February of 2021 when she started her career as a dental assistant. Stephanie is a joy with the patients. She loves spending time with family and friends.
Angela started with our office in February of 2021. She just relocated back to Delaware from Southern Maryland. You will find her smiling at the front desk as you walk in the door. This is Angela’s first dental experience. She previously was the general manger of her own Dominos pizza! HOW FUN!!! In her free time she loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, eating out, and going to the beach.
