Dr. Coope was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona in 1961. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Pennsylvania in 1984. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry from 1988 to 1991 where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Distinction. Dr. Coope joined the Air Force after dental school and met his wife, Laurie, at his first duty station in Grand Forks, North Dakota. While in the Air Force, Dr. Coope completed a two year advanced general dentistry residency and became a Diplomate of the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry in 2002. He then became Board Certified with the American Board of General Dentistry in 2004. By completing over 500 hours of continuing education Dr. Coope became a Fellow with the Academy of General Dentistry in 2007 and then went on to receive their highest award of Master in 2013.
Dr. Coope moved his wife and son, Byron to Dover, DE in 2001 with the Air Force. Shortly after arriving in Dover they adopted their daughter, Katana, from China. Dr. Coope and his family really enjoyed Dover and the surrounding area so decided to leave the military and open a private practice. He has been practicing in Dover since 2004.

Dr. Rohan Shah is a dedicated dental professional with over 15 years of combined experience in providing high-quality dental care and helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles. He joined our practice in 2024 and is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Shah is committed to delivering personalized treatment with a focus on patient comfort, education, and long-term oral health. He joined our practice in April of 2024. Throughout his career, Dr. Shah has built a reputation for combining clinical excellence with a compassionate approach, ensuring that every patient receives individualized care tailored to their unique needs. He remains passionate about staying current with advancements in dentistry and continuously expanding his knowledge and skills. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Shah enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their two children. He is an avid swimmer and loves exploring new destinations, experiencing different cultures, and creating lasting memories through travel. His commitment to family, wellness, and lifelong learning reflects the same values he brings to his dental practice every day.
Laurie is Dr. Coope’s wife and according to her “his better half”. She is an attorney so when he wanted to open his own practice she was glad to help out with the business aspects. They have 2 children, a son in Vermont and a daughter in Atlanta. They also have 2 cats, Bebe and Tounces.
Cindy began her career in dental assisting after completing her training at Harris School of Business, following her graduation from William Penn High School in 2015. She is a great asset to have on the team as she is cross-trained and supports both clinical and administrative aspects of the practice, stepping in wherever needed. She is also Bilingual and helps make connections with patients and creates a comfortable, welcoming experience for them. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling/ taking spontaneous trips, trying new restaurants, and visiting national parks for hiking.
Charlie joined the team in August 2019. He has been a dental assistant for about 16 years. While he still loves interacting with the patients chairside he has found his passion doing lab work. His talent and skill have been an enormous help to Dr. Coope and the office. Charlie enjoys spending time with his husband, Jerry, and their two dogs, Isabella and Dapper.
Amanda joined our team in July of 2020. She started her dental career in 2006 working as a dental assistant and she received her Dental Hygiene degree in 2011. She enjoys educating patients and making a difference in their lives and in their smile. Amanda grew up and still lives in Felton Delaware with her husband Sam and two daughters. She loves anything summer, reading, cooking, baking and being artsy.
Stephanie joined our team in February of 2021 when she started her career as a dental assistant. Stephanie is a joy with the patients. She loves spending time with family and friends.
Maria is a dedicated dental hygienist with over 26 years of combined experience in dentistry. A graduate of Wilmington University and Delaware Technical Community College, she is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and helping patients feel comfortable and confident during their visits.
Known for her gentle approach and focus on patient education, Maria is committed to helping patients achieve and maintain healthy smiles. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and relaxing at the beach.
